Connect.  Inspire.  Empower.  Share.

Why next steps?

We believe that one of the best ways to make Jesus known, in the world, is to imitate him and try to live out our lives as followers of Jesus. How do we do that in a consistent manner? At River’s Edge we believe that if this is made into a process then people will be challenged to progress in their spiritual journey. Discipleship is a life-long process, and together, as a community of believers, we can encourage each other as we walk this road.

Step 1 : Connect

There are various ways to become connected at River’s Edge:

  1. Fill out a ‘connection card’ during our worship service.
We’d love to get to know you! If it’s your first time visiting with us, don’t forget to pick up your free gift.
  2. Get connected with God through Sunday worship.
Be part of vibrant worship and practical teaching from the Bible each Sunday morning. Stay and connect with others over a coffee at the end of the service.
  3. Get connected through the week at Connect Groups.
Make friendships around Bible-based discussion in a caring supportive smaller group.
  4. Make a decision to connect personally with Jesus.
The greatest decision you will ever make is to know Jesus, contact us today if you want to know more about how to do this. info@riversedgechurch.com.au

Step 2 : Inspire

1. To become a committed follower of Jesus through being baptised.

Follow Jesus’ command of being baptised in water and know the fullness of baptism in the Holy Spirit. When Jesus left His disciples, he urged them to wait and receive the Holy Spirit so that they would be empowered to be witnesses for Him (Acts 2). We believe that promise is available for us today and encourage believers to be baptised in the Holy Spirit so that they can experience that same empowering to be a witness for Jesus, and to live godly lives.

2. To live life to it’s fullest through our ‘Living Free’ seminar.
Get rid of ‘spiritually unhealthy’ patterns and live the life that Jesus intended for you. Sign up for our next two day seminar to help you live out the Gospel. info@riversedgechurch.com.au

3. To become a committed member.
At River’s Edge Church we believe that becoming a member is an important step in ‘owning’ your place; and being able to call our church your own.

4. Through  preaching and teaching.
As well as the regular Sunday service, we also offer other courses and encourage you to attend them to inspire you in your walk of faith. These include: ‘Living with purpose’, ‘Living with Influence’ and ‘Living with Significance’ seminars among others. info@riversedgechurch.com.au

Step 3 : Empower

  1. To serve within the church
There are numerous opportunities for you to serve the Lord through the various ministry expressions at River’s Edge Church.  info@riversedgechurch.com.au
  2. Be empowered by the Holy Spirit
Being a Pentecostal church, we believe that the Spirit graciously enables us to serve each other through His various ‘giftings,’ (for e.g. it might be a prophecy or a word of wisdom). At River’s Edge Church we encourage people to step out and be used by the Holy Spirit.
  3. To live a life of fulfilment everyday.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit we believe you can experience fulfilment everyday and be empowered to impact your particular ‘world’ – whether it is at home, at school or at work.

Step 4 : Share

  1. Sharing our Faith through Community Kindness
As faithful followers of Jesus we will encourage you to tell others about Christ and His love for all humanity and demonstrate that love through acts of kindness.
  2. Financially Support the church and its work (eg. missionaries)
Out of our love for the Lord, we give, not only our time, but our money, to further the work of the kingdom; not only within River’s Edge Church, but overseas as well. For more information about who we support and ways to do this please contact us. info@riversedgechurch.com.au
  3. Prayer
Prayer is a valuable way to share our faith in God with others. Through praying for people during our service and through the week, we are able to believe together for God to answer our prayers, for both the people within our church and their family, friends and colleagues. If you would like our team to pray for a specific need or situation, please contact us or fill out a prayer request card on Sunday morning. prayer@riversedgechurch.com.au
